DAY 1 - Castle Mountain, AB / Fernie, BC    (Ski day 1)

Depart Calgary early as MM aims to have you at Castle Mountain Resort or Fernie B.C. between 10 and 11am or slightly after depending on where the best conditions are. The flexibility allows us to ensure you make the most out of your first day hitting the slopes. Castle is a lesser known resort which means virtually no people to contend with. Home to dry powder, amazing fall line and small town hospitality; Castle will leave you wanting more. After the day of shredding we depart for the town of Fernie, where you will be staying the night and riding the next day. Downtown accommodations ensure the best local options for food and drinks.

DAY 2 - Fernie / Nelson, BC   (Ski day 2)

Today is a great opportunity to really build your confidence up. Fernie ranges from amazing beginner runs to epic alpine bowls. Cruise treed runs or challenge the alpine chutes at this diverse resort. When your legs have had enough, we say bye to Fernie and drive you to Nelson, BC. This beautiful town is home to amazing food, culture and a very under-rated resort. You will be staying at the Baker Street Best Western, right on the main strip and host to the best hotel restaurant in the region.

DAY 3 - Nelson, BC    (Ski day 3)

Today is all about indulgence. After a hearty cooked breakfast at your hotel, you experience Whitewater. This small little ski resort is anything but small, if size was determined by it’s snow fall. It averages over 40ft of snow a year! The runs here are shorter, but that just means you get to do more of them. Amazing snow and some of the best natural features a ski hill has to offer. The pillow lines and steep deep tree skiing here are unmatched in the Kootenays. The food at the resort is also world class, with Whitewater Café even having its own bestselling cook book. Back in Nelson after some shower and hot tub action, MM takes you into town to experience the amazing food this cute little town has to offer. Join MM for dinner or explore by yourself. One suggestion is Cantina, for tacos and margaritas. Backroads and Torchlights are two of the local breweries MM will show you.

DAY 4 - Nelson / Revelstoke, BC    (Free Day/Hot Springs)

After a sleep in, explore this beautiful little town, enjoy a massage or take in the beauty of the Valhallas on a scenic flight before departing for Revelstoke around lunch. Along the way we stop at Halcyon Hot Springs; a perfect opportunity to rest your legs in the healing waters of BC. Enjoy this scenic drive through the mountains winding high above lakes and past stunning peaks before arriving in Revelstoke where we will stay for 2 nights. You will need your rest for tomorrow as this place is huge and fast becoming the adventure capital of Canada.

DAY 5 - Revelstoke, BC    (Ski day 4)

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is on the menu today. This place has to be seen to be believed. The biggest vertical in North America (1713m), 3121 acres (only 7% beginner, but you are ready), 4 alpine bowls and a 15.2km run. This place is fast getting a reputation as a dream destination. On powder days you will see locals lining up at 7am to get first tracks, while cooking their breakfast in line over camp stoves. When you see this happening, you know it must be good. The terrain is hard to beat, giving you runs that would compete with most available at Cat-Skiing operations when its fresh. Let one of our local snow hosts show you those secret stashes of snow or give you the tips you need to conquer this behemoth.  When you can't ride anymore on hard worked legs, après drinks are a must at the Village Idiot Pub in town, giving you a chance to socialize with true locals or maybe even bump into some of the pros that are often filming in the region.

Some members of the tour will be leaving us here if they have opted for the shorter 5 day option.

DAY 6 - Revelstoke / Golden, BC    (Free Day)

Today is a ‘you’ day. You can join us for another resort day, go heli-skiing*, snowmobiling* or just relax and take advantage of the hot tub and town’s local attractions. Whatever you decide, make sure it’s good as we will be departing for Golden and Kicking Horse early in the evening. Upon arrival to Golden you will be staying at Homelodge, a beautiful ranch style BnB tucked in a scenic valley minutes above town where we have the whole place to ourselves. Indulge in views of the stars above the peaks from the hot tub tonight and dream about tomorrow.

DAY 7 - Golden, BC    (Ski day 5)

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The champagne powder capital of Canada. Steep and Deep, this is the perfect location to see how far you have progressed. They don’t get much bigger than this! If you can stop skiing or snowboarding long enough, you can enjoy lunch in the highest restaurant in the country. The views from the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant will not disappoint. A maple bacon caesar or a pulled pork poutine are local favourites!

DAY 8 - Golden, BC / Calgary, AB    (Free Day) (Departure Day)

Today is our last day of the tour. If you want to head back to Kicking Horse and wrangle one of their many gnarly chutes, we will be more than happy to take you. You can also try your hand at some snowmobiling* or even just sleep in and take advantage of the beautiful location of Home Lodge before a beer tasting at the Whitetooth Brewing Co. At the end of the day we depart for Calgary with stops at Lake Louise for pictures of the iconic glacier and Banff or Canmore if required.

The tour is over but the journey may go on. If you want to stay in the Banff area longer MM can help sort out accommodations, lift passes or a mountain host subject to availability. Ask us about adding on a weekend of Cat Skiing at Castle Mountain to the end of the trip!

Whatever your plans, the team at Mountain Movements looks forward to making your vacation incredible.
